I had similar bad experience with eastcoastlaptops. I purchased a LCD laptop screen for my Dell computer during Thanksgiving weekend of 2008. The merchandise I received was defective and not working. I called them. They (Marty) told me to send it back for another one. To make a long story short I waited for two monthes for the second LCD and finally gave up on it. I called them at least twenty times and Marty was always giving me false promises and just keep me waiting there. I think the guy is just some kind of sadistic. I was always nice and friendly with him. On my last conversation with him he even gave me a Fed Ex tracking nunber but the shipment never moved from its initial stage.

Anyhow these type of people make you feel hesitant about any kind of on-line purchase. They take your money and you are at their mercy. I recommend Laptopcomputers to no one. They are crooks and they waste your time and money.

I have had quite the opposite experience. I returned a laptop and found the “crew” at ECL/Centric very accomodating.

I did read your blog and your complaint (seeking to find out about a company I do business with) and I am sorry to hear of your story with them. A lot of little at home businesses (of which I am one but not quite so little anymore) find a few things to sell, think suddenly they are a “real company” and do this little power thing about rules and policies that they make up as they go and like to implement to get even with some company that pissed them off in the past. Its affecting the real “small internet business” because suddenly anyone can say “Yes I own my business–all you need is a web site and a tax ID) and as these people come and go, I have to continually reaffirm to my customers, old and new that I am not them–and I’ve been tried and true and have good intentions. People like the company you dealth with exhaust me and my efforts.
